Nonnenmann / YMCA Sunday School Basketball Program (S.S.B.L.)

The Nonnenmann/Sunday School Basketball Program will put Christian principles into practice through a youth basketball league that will build spirit, mind, and body. The program will be targeted to youth that regularly attend church service, or a Sunday
School program. Program staff will work towards developing character through spirit, mind, and body.

The goal of the Sunday School Basketball program is to help encourage team behavior; encourage youth attendance in church and/or Sunday school; and provide a safe and healthy environment to develop physical conditions for youth. Participants in this
program will work to strengthen spiritual development and sportsmanship though athletic competition; improve athletic performance though organized basketball practices and games; and learn the importance of teamwork.

All players must attend seventy-five percent (75%) of their Sunday School classes per month, beginning four (4) weeks preceding their first game. It is the coach’s responsibility that he/she knows the attendance record of his/her team and be able to vouch for each player’s satisfactory attendance at any time if an inquiry is made. Sunday School Definition: shall mean an organized and supervised religious or worship service to youth, regardless of its’ organization beliefs, location, time, or practices.

All players must not have reached their sixteenth (16th) birthday up to and including November 15, any player having his sixteenth (16th ) birthday during the season may continue to play.

During the registration process, players will list their coach/team name or ask to be assigned to a team. Coaches are responsible for submitting their roster and communication with their team. Schedule requests from coaches must be written on team rosters and will be accommodated when possible...but not guaranteed.
