Guest Pass Policy

Guest Pass Policy

Our first priority is to serve our members who have made a commitment by becoming a member. The purpose behind the guest pass policy is to enhance member services to current members who are encouraging a friend to join or have an out of town family member visiting and to offer an opportunity for non-members to try our facility before committing to join.  Guest hours and facility usage may vary based on capacity.

*The Cumberland YMCA management reserves the right to change the Guest Pass Policy at any time at its discretion.

Guest Rules:

  • Guests must register at the Welcome Center and provide a valid identification (driver’s license or school I.D).
  • All guests are screened through the National Sex Offender Registry. The Y reserves the right to deny access to anyone who appears on the Registry.
  • Guests must adhere to all YMCA policies and usage guidelines.
  • Youth guests (17 and under) must have an adult member remain at the YMCA with the youth guest at all times, and provide their signature with the liability waiver.
  • Individuals can visit two times using a guest pass per calendar year.

Returned Membership Dues

Returned Dues

All electronic drafts that are returned and not resolved prior to the next draft date will have their membership cancelled. If your draft is returned, it will be resubmitted again in an attempt to collect your dues. The YMCA is not responsible for any other collection/bank fees assessed by individual banking institutions. In order to reinstate a membership, all outstanding balances must be paid in full.

Refunds and Cancellations

Membership Refunds

Monthly Membership fees are non-transferable and will not be refunded beyond 3 months after payment has been processed. Annual memberships are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Cancellation and Facility Use

Dues are continuous every month regardless of use of the YMCA until the proper change procedure is followed. Cancellation must be submitted on the required Membership Cancellation Form in person or by email at least 30 days prior to the next draft date. Cancellation via phone is not permitted.  Cancellation is not complete until written confirmation is provided by the YMCA. You are responsible for checking your bank and credit card accounts to ensure that automatic payments have been stopped.

Sport / Aquatic Program Credit Guidelines

  • A full refund will be issued if a request to withdraw from a sport/aquatic program is made 24-hours prior to the start of the program.
  • Refund requests after the start of the start of the program will be at the discretion of management.
  • The YMCA reserves the right to cancel a class due to low participation.  In the event this happens, registrants will receive a full refund.
  • If the YMCA cancels a program due to staff/facility difficulties or weather, the YMCA will provide a credit for the missed program on members’ accounts, if a make-up date is not scheduled.
  • Refund will be issued via mailed check unless the original transaction was charged to a credit card. The same account number will be credited. No cash refunds will be issued at any time.

Service Animal Policy

Any dog that is individually trained to do work or perform tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability, including a physical, sensory, psychiatric, intellectual, or other mental disability, is allowed in our facility. Service dogs are allowed to accompany the handler to any place in the building or facility where members of the public, program participants, customers or clients are allowed.

Privacy / Software Policy

Music Policy

The YMCA desires to host a family friendly environment where all ages can enjoy their experience.  To foster this atmosphere, a music policy has been instituted.  Music devices should be used with headphones and set at a volume that does not disturb other members.  Music should only be amplified during a scheduled YMCA class or program.

Caregivers

Caregivers

Caregivers are required to stay with the member they are accompanying throughout the visit.  Caregivers such as nannies and adult assistants will be required to have their own membership for personal use of the Y facilities. They are not included, as caregivers, in any membership, including family memberships.

Inclement Weather Policy

Inclement Weather Policy

The Cumberland YMCA will always put the safety of its members, program participants, and staff first when decisions need to be made concerning inclement weather.

In the event of inclement weather, including thunder and/or lightning, the pool will close and the pool deck will be cleared. The pool area will remain closed for 30 minutes after each flash of lightning and/or each sound of thunder. All patrons and staff must exit the pool area.

When inclement weather poses a threat, the YMCA may adjust or cancel scheduled hours of operation, programs and/or special events. If such circumstances occur, please check with the following for additional information.

Military Initative

The Cumberland YMCA would like to thank all those in the military and their families for their commitment and sacrifice for our country. We welcome Active duty military personnel on leave and their immediate family members to workout at our facility for up to 30 days at no cost. Active military identification for the family must be presented and the individuals must complete the guest waiver form.
