Camping Details

The Y outdoor camping area consists of a fenced yard area with a pavilion and picnic tables. The pavilion has electricity, line for clothing and hooks for two hammocks. A porta-potty is available during non-business hours. While there is minimal overnight car traffic on Kelly Road, the camping site is close to the train track and there is a regular early morning train that passes through (like 3 am to 4 am early!!). 

We are located within one mile of the C & O Canal and the Great Allegheny Passage. There is a convenience store
with fast food options nearby as well as a number of dining options located about 1.5 miles away on the Cumberland Downtown Mall.

The Camping rental fee includes use of our indoor shower facilities, indoor restrooms, and access to vending machines.  Camping Rentals are limited to 2 days a month unless approved by management.

Reservations are not required for groups under 10 campers.

Time

April - November

Check in and set up is after 6:00 pm on weekdays (strictly enforced due to programming) and any time on weekends.  


*All Adults must present a valid ID when checking in.
*Play equipment on the field is for YMCA Child Care use only.

Check out is by 8:00 am seven days a week.

From Canal Place / Western Maryland Scenic Rail Road / Great Allegheny Passage
  • TURN on Baltimore Street TOWARDS CHURCH ON THE HILL.
  • Turn LEFT onto Greene Street.
  • At the light, turn RIGHT to stay on Greene Street.
  • Turn LEFT onto S. Lee Street AT SHEETZ.
  • Turn RIGHT onto Beall Street.
  • Turn LEFT onto Kelly Road BEFORE RAILROAD CROSSING.
