YTeens

EXCITING PROGRAMS YOUR TEEN WILL RAVE ABOUT!

The YTeens Program provides great activities and entertainment for youth in the middle school, all in a safe environment that parents can trust. YTeens programs meet at the Riverside complex.

The Project AIM School Based Curriculum is a well-researched, evidenced-based program that has been proven effective in reducing sexual risks in middle school youth by reducing sexual intentions, delaying the initiation of sex, and increasing sexual abstinence. Project Aim is offered to the seventh graders in Allegany County Middle Schools. Two highly trained facilitators educate students on making healthy choices that will enhance positive future outcomes.  Through Project Aim, the Cumberland YMCA anticipates success in redirecting the aspirations of our youth away from risky sexual behaviors and toward positive life goals. For more information contact Sharon Cihlar, Program Director at 301-777-9622.

The YTeens After School meets three days per week when school is in session. Teens enjoy group activities, like gymnastics, team sports, basketball, swimming, Wii Sports and crafts and so much more! This active group starts each afternoon with a healthy, delicious meal. The youth really connect to our energized, compassionate mentors, who provide expert tutoring and great role modeling.
