Swimming provides an enjoyable form of exercise for children and adults of all ages.  Swimming skills can provide a lifetime of health and fitness once the fundamental swimming strokes are learned.  Skills learned through swim lessons increase personal safety for children and adults during recreational activities at the lake, beach, community or residential swimming pool, as well as when boating or fishing.

Group Swim Lessons are divided by age and ability group.  Students learn at different rates and are usually in each level more than once.  Instructors emphasize personal safety, swimming skills, endurance, and social skills while guiding students with praise and encouragement.  As all students progress through different skill levels they also learn to enjoy safe recreational swimming and water sports.

IMPORTANT! Unless registering for Skips, Pre-Pike, Pike, or Polliwog, all new participants must be classified prior to registering for class.  All current or previous lesson participants can register based upon the Instructor’s written evaluation (if registering prior to class completion) and/or their Progress Report following completion of the current class.  New swimmers can be classified by appointment to fit your schedule.  Contact the Aquatics Department by phone at (301) 777-9622 or email at jwright@allconet.org to set up the evaluation.  Please bring your child’s bathing suit, towel, and goggles (if needed).  On the day of the appointment, go to the front desk and let them know that you are here to have your child evaluated for Group Swim Lessons.
