Ages 55+You’re not getting older; you’re getting better! The Y offers seniors active, fun and community based opportunities to stay fit while making healthy lifestyle choices. Our special Growing Younger Program seeks to provide community dwelling older adults with health and wellness training in the form of twice weekly fitness classes, quarterly fitness evaluations and quarterly health promotion activities. Keep active, keep young and keep healthy with our wide variety of senior classes.
These classes are geared towards participants aged 55 and older. Please refer to our online Group Fitness schedule for the most update class schedule. Silver Sneakers®Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, a Silver Sneakers® ball are offered for resistance, and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Silver Sneakers® YogaMove your whole body through a complete series of seating and standing yoga poses designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. Please refer to our online Group Fitness schedule for the most update class schedule. Silver Sneakers® CircuitCombine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a Silver Sneakers® ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography.
